Finlab Nigeria Limited. Established in 1981, Finlab Nigeria is a leading supplier of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and reagents across Nigeria. They serve clients within research institutions, educational settings, and industrial laboratories.
Challenge
Finlab Nigeria, despite its established reputation as a trusted laboratory supplier, suffered from an outdated website that presented significant roadblocks for its customers. Product discovery was frustrating due to a cumbersome design, while limited e-commerce functionalities created friction throughout the purchase process. The website's dated appearance failed to reflect Finlab's strong industry position, hindering its ability to fully leverage its online presence.
Solution
Tanta Innovative Limited approached the project with a focus on transforming Finlab's online presence into a modern, user-centric e-commerce hub. We harnessed the power of Next.js for a fast and dynamic website, paired with Node.js and Express for robust back-end functionality. To address the complexities of scientific equipment sales, we developed a tailored product organization system with intuitive navigation, advanced search, and filtering. Informative product pages featuring high-quality images (stored on AWS S3), detailed technical specifications, and cross-selling suggestions were carefully crafted. We built a custom e-commerce solution tailored to Finlab's specific requirements, streamlining order management, shipping, and payments. Tailwind CSS was used to accelerate styling and create a visually appealing user interface. Payload CMS empowers easy content management for Finlab. Finally, to optimize performance, Cloudflare (CDN) and its optimization tools (like Zaraz and Rocket Loader) were implemented, along with detailed analytics like Google Analytics (GA4) to gain essential user insights.
Results
The revitalized Finlab Nigeria website has proven to be a significant sales driver. Since the launch, Finlab has experienced a marked increase in online orders, demonstrating the enhanced platform's effectiveness. Positive customer feedback highlights the intuitive product discovery, ease of purchase, and modern presentation. Crucially, the new website addresses Finlab's core need for customization and granular control. Payload CMS provides flexibility in content management, while features enabling direct communication between sales representatives and customers streamline the order fulfillment process. The result is a dynamic, user-centric site that bolsters both Finlab's sales operations and customer satisfaction.
